Learning Hyper-V 2016 changes – Ignite Playlist
Server 2016 was announced at this year’s Microsoft Ignite ushering in a lot of new features for Server 2016 and especially for Hyper-V.
Upgrades to the Hyper-V platform read almost like a wish list with Microsoft offering an array of welcome improvements and new capabilities that greatly enhance their virtualization offering.
Microsoft has of course documented all this new goodness on technet: What’s new in Hyper-V on Windows Server 2016
At Ignite though, there were dozens of walk-throughs, demos, and instructional guidance to assist with learning Hyper-V’s new capabilities.
I’ve compiled a playlist of the available 2016 Ignite videos relevant to the Hyper-V platform and linked it below.
Topics include:
- Windows Server 2016
- Windows Server 2016 Failover Clustering
- Rolling OS Cluster Upgrades
- System Center 2016
- Nano Server
- Hyper-V Containers
- Shielded VMs
- Server 2016 Security
- Powershell
- Storage Spaces
- Cloud Platforms
- Azure stack
While not all of these are direct Hyper-V discussions each covers a technology relevant to Hyper-V. I’ve closed out the playlist with a few videos on Azure Stack which is something that all Hyper-V admins should keep a pulse on as that moves forward.
With 32 videos at an average of 1hr of run time you have 32h:58m:39s worth of Hyper-V learning at your fingertips! Enjoy!
